MEET YOUR COACH
Hi, I am Coach Brendan Mattingly – Your Guide To The Next Level
I’m an RSPA Certified Tennis & Pickleball Professional with a unique combination of college tennis credentials and pickleball coaching expertise that’s helped countless players break through plateaus and reach their true potential, especially players in their 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond.
What I bring to your game:
My story? Coming from a background as a tennis professional and an experienced table tennis player, I was intrigued with the structure of pickleball. The combination of strategy, finesse, and accessibility immediately drew me in. With my college tennis credentials (JUCO Nationals at Baylor University) and years of professional tennis coaching, I understood that the skills from racquet sports translate beautifully to pickleball, and I’ve spent the last 4 years helping players make that same connection.
My approach: I enjoy teaching pickleball because you can enjoy the sport at different levels and it doesn’t take a long time to become efficient at the game. I’m aware of the fundamentals and can often give tips that enable students to be more consistent and improve quickly. Coaching comes naturally for me, my father was a basketball coach for over 20 years and my brother also coached basketball while in the Military and High School ball when he returned to the states. I also coached both basketball and tennis at the high school level, so I understand how to break down skills and help players of all ages reach their potential.
I bring college-level athletic credentials combined with RSPA professional certification and a proven track record helping intermediate players break through plateaus. I don’t just teach from pickleball experience, I teach from decades of racquet sport mastery across tennis and table tennis that give me unique insight into strategy, shot mechanics, and court positioning.
But here’s what I’m MOST excited about: The drilling. Lots and lots of drilling.
Not boring, repetitive drilling, but fundamentally-sound, discipline-building drilling that makes improvement happen fast. The kind where you hit a bunch of balls in rapid succession and feel the difference immediately. The kind where my tennis professional background helps me spot technical flaws and give you the exact tip you need to fix them.
Coaching comes naturally to me. It’s in my blood. We drill with purpose. You improve quickly. You feel it immediately.
On May 2nd, I’m bringing this cross-sport expertise and natural coaching ability to just a few lucky players in Rockville.

Most camps spend too much time talking and not enough time doing.
I’m the opposite.
Here’s my philosophy: Drilling = Transformation
You don’t get better by listening to lectures about the third shot drop. You get better by hitting third shot drops repeatedly while a coach with professional racquet sport credentials watches and corrects you.
And here’s the truth about why I’m obsessed with drilling:
Because let’s be honest, we all love that moment when we implement something new and it actually WORKS, don’t we?
That moment when you adjust your paddle angle and suddenly your third shot lands exactly where you want it.
That rush when you hit 10 serves in a row to the same spot.
That feeling when your opponent fires a fast ball at you and you put it away cleanly.
You don’t have to wait weeks to see if the coaching worked. You see it immediately. Right there on the court.
That’s why drilling is the heartbeat of my camps. Not because I think it’s good for you (though it is), but because it’s incredibly satisfying to watch yourself improve in real-time, and I can often give you the exact tip you need to become more consistent and improve quickly.
See why 98% of our campers recommend this camp.
Yeah. I’m Gene Justman out of, Denver, Colorado, and, good nuts and bolts program on, playing pickleball. I learned to get low.
I learned to hit the ball long and towards the back line. Great program.
– Gene Justman
Hi, I’m Debbie from Oklahoma. I really enjoyed today’s drill. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it exceeded my expectations. I got plenty of reps, learned many new aspects of the game, and added to my toolbox. It was a great experience.
– Debbie
Hi, I’m Linda. I’m from Iowa. I joined the camp today. It was great to touch on all different aspects. We’re able to drill enough that we got good at all the different aspects. So I’m ready to hit the courts.
– Linda
A super helpful tip today thatI know I can apply immediatelyand some really great drills that my wife, who’s my playing partner, and I can can put to use this week as well. It was a great clinic.
– Camp Attendee
Hi. I just finished an Obsessed
Pickleballers clinic, and I would
recommend it to anyone who wants to get better. Mark has a great way of explaining things, and he teaches in a way that anyone can get better in the four hour session.
– Camp Attendee
You know that moment when you replay the match in your head…
…thinking about all the shots you should have made?
…watching players you know you should beat walk away with the win?
…feeling that gap between the player you are and the player you know you could be?
That ends on May 2nd.
Because by the time you walk off the court at 4:00 PM, something fundamental will have changed. Your body will respond differently. Your mind will read the game differently. And the next time you play, your regular partners will immediately notice something has shifted.
You walk onto your local court for your regular morning game.
As soon as you start warming up, your playing partners stop and stare.
“What happened to you?”
Your serves are landing deep and aggressive, no more shanks, no more pop-ups. When they return, you’re already reading where the ball is going. Your third shot drop is pulling them out of position. At the kitchen line, you’re controlling rallies with patience and precision they’ve never seen from you before.
By the third game, they’re asking what you did. By the fifth game, they’re asking where you learned it. By the time you leave, they’re asking if you can teach them.
That’s the difference between who you are right now and who you’ll be after the camp.
And it all starts the moment you register, because the transformation begins before you even arrive.
I’ll teach you how to control rallies through intelligent positioning and smart shot selection, not just power. You’ll start winning more points while using less energy.
Soon after camp, your opponents will be working twice as hard for half the results. While they’re gasping for air, you’ll stay fresh, composed, and ready for the next point.
This is especially important for us 40+ players. We focus on helping you play smarter, not harder—so you can play multiple times a week without burning out or risking injury.
I’ll connect you with other passionate players at your exact skill level. You’ll exchange numbers, join the Obsessed Pickleballers Community together, and stay permanently connected with everyone you meet.
No one gets left behind. Whether you’re naturally social or more reserved, local or visiting, you’ll be welcomed and seamlessly connected with the entire group through our community platform.
After camp, the group chat starts buzzing with game invites and practice sessions. By next month, you’ll have a regular crew of players who understand your goals, your schedule, and your commitment to improvement—no more showing up alone, hoping to find a good match.
I’ll eliminate the hesitation that’s been costing you points. Drive or drop? Your body already knows.
When to move to the kitchen? You’re already moving.
How to handle the lob? You’re executing before you finish thinking about it.
When you step into matches the following week, your opponents will see the difference. They’ll see a player who moves with confidence and certainty, someone who’s always one step ahead.
I’ll help you identify the technical flaws that are quietly limiting your game. With my professional tennis background and RSPA certification, I’m aware of the fundamentals and can often give you the exact tip you need to become more consistent and improve quickly.
Most players spend years battling the same weaknesses. You’ll correct yours in a single afternoon.
That forehand that used to sail long? Now landing deep with topspin.
The backhand you avoided? Now a dependable go-to shot.
The serve that made you nervous? Now setting up points in your favor.
I’ll show you how good you can actually be. You’ll leave energized, confident, and already looking forward to your next time on the court.
Remember when you first fell in love with pickleball, when you couldn’t wait to play? If that feeling has been fading lately…
On May 2nd, it comes roaring back.
Because when you experience what it feels like to play at your true potential, when you finally break through that plateau, that’s when the obsession returns.
