MEET YOUR COACH
I’m a PCI Certified Pickleball Coach, 4.5-level competitive player, and a coach with over 30 years of experience across 7 different sports. I’ve dedicated my coaching career to one mission: helping senior players play smarter, feel better, and enjoy this game for as many years as they can.
I believe pickleball for seniors should feel energizing, not exhausting. Controlled, not frantic. And most of all, it should feel like something you can keep doing, keep improving at, and keep loving for years to come. That’s what this session is built around.
I’ve been playing pickleball for over 4 years and coaching for 3.5 years. But what really sets me apart isn’t just my pickleball credentials — it’s the unique perspective I bring from decades of coaching multiple racquet sports and athletics, and my ability to translate that directly into your pickleball game.
What I bring to your game:
My story: Three decades of coaching athletes across seven sports gave me something most coaches don’t have — the ability to see patterns, understand movement mechanics at a deep level, and translate complex strategies into simple, immediately usable instruction. When I discovered pickleball, everything clicked. The sport is a natural home for everything I’ve learned about smart, sustainable, senior-friendly athletic performance.
My coaching philosophy is simple: I get great pleasure helping others. Whether you’re an intermediate player hungry to learn advanced concepts or a competitor looking for detailed strategies and mindset training — I meet you exactly where you are. For senior players specifically, that means every session is thoughtfully paced, body-aware, and built around enjoying the game you love while protecting the health that keeps you on the court.
My approach: Smart play is everything. I focus on mindset, intelligent positioning, shot selection, and readiness, the fundamentals that create consistent, enjoyable, sustainable pickleball. For players in their 60s and beyond, that means drilling with purpose at a pace that feels good. We warm up properly. We cool down properly. And everything in between is designed to help you play better, not just today, but for years.
I bring PCI certification, 30+ years of multi-sport coaching experience, current 4.5-level competitive play, and a mindset-first coaching philosophy — combined with a patient, positive environment specifically designed for players who want to play well and feel great doing it.
What I’m MOST focused on with this group: The small, smart adjustments that create the biggest improvements without putting unnecessary strain on your body.
Not overhauling your game — but identifying the specific habits currently limiting your performance and replacing them through purposeful, gentle drilling. Every rep is meaningful. Every correction is clear. And everything we do is designed to help you play better for longer.
We keep things moving at a pace that feels good. We take our warm-up seriously. And we finish feeling better than when we arrived.
Schedule
Static Stretching (8 min) — Seated or standing options for all:
Dynamic Activation (8 min):
Hydration Break (4 min): Mandatory water stop before any drills begin
Serve Drill (10 min): Placement and consistency from the baseline
Serve & Return Drill (10 min): Controlled rallies emphasizing depth
Coaching Focus (5 min): Individual feedback on grip and follow-through
Slinky Drill (10 min): Emphasizes soft hands and arc control
7/11 Drill (5 min): Short-range drop targets for accuracy
Skinny Singles (5 min): Precision play in half-court — lower physical demand
Dink Rally Challenge (10 min): Longest rally wins — patience over aggression
Dingle Drill (5 min): Controlled cross-court dink exchanges
Shuffle Dinks (5 min): Lateral movement at the NVZ — short steps, stay balanced
Most intermediate sessions push players too hard, too fast, and send them home tired instead of energized.
I’m different.
Here’s my philosophy: Purposeful Drilling = Lasting Improvement
You don’t get better by doing more. You get better by doing the right things, correctly, at a pace that works for your body — with a coach who has spent a decade developing the system that helps senior players improve without burning out.
And here’s what I’ve seen time and time again coaching senior players:
That moment when you adjust your paddle angle and suddenly your third shot lands right where you aimed it.
That quiet satisfaction when your serve goes in — consistently, every time.
That feeling of rallying back and forth at the kitchen with real control — not scrambling, not guessing. Just playing.
You don’t need to work harder to feel that improvement. You need to work smarter. Right there on the court. Every session.
That’s why purposeful, paced drilling is at the heart of everything I do with this group.
See why 98% of our campers recommend this camp.
Yeah. I’m Gene Justman out of, Denver, Colorado, and, good nuts and bolts program on, playing pickleball. I learned to get low.
I learned to hit the ball long and towards the back line. Great program.
– Gene Justman
Hi, I’m Debbie from Oklahoma. I really enjoyed today’s drill. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it exceeded my expectations. I got plenty of reps, learned many new aspects of the game, and added to my toolbox. It was a great experience.
– Debbie
Hi, I’m Linda. I’m from Iowa. I joined the camp today. It was great to touch on all different aspects. We’re able to drill enough that we got good at all the different aspects. So I’m ready to hit the courts.
– Linda
A super helpful tip today thatI know I can apply immediatelyand some really great drills that my wife, who’s my playing partner, and I can can put to use this week as well. It was a great clinic.
– Camp Attendee
Hi. I just finished an Obsessed
Pickleballers clinic, and I would
recommend it to anyone who wants to get better. Mark has a great way of explaining things, and he teaches in a way that anyone can get better in the four hour session.
– Camp Attendee
You know that feeling when you replay the match in your head…
…thinking about the shots that got away from you?
…noticing that you were working harder than you needed to?
…sensing that gap between the player you are and the player you know you could be?
That changes on June 15th.
Because by the time you walk off the court at 10:00 AM, something will have shifted. Your positioning will feel more natural. Your decisions will come more easily. And the next time you play, the game will feel just a little more under your control.
You walk onto your regular court for your weekly game.
As soon as you start warming up, your playing partners look over.
“Something’s different about you today.”
Your serves are landing deep and consistent. When they return, you’re already in position. Your third shot drop is working — pulling them out of place before the rally even starts. At the kitchen line, you’re patient, controlled, and comfortable.
By the end of the session, they’re asking what you did. By the time you leave, they’re asking if you’ll share where you learned it.
That’s the difference between who you are right now and who you’ll be after the camp.
And it all starts the moment you register.
I’ll teach you how to control rallies through smart positioning and shot selection, not effort and power. You’ll start winning more points while using less energy.
Soon after camp, your opponents will be working twice as hard for half the results. While they’re scrambling, you’ll be composed and ready for the next point. Playing smarter, not harder means you can play multiple times a week and still feel good afterward.
I’ll connect you with other players at your exact skill level. You’ll exchange numbers, join the Obsessed Pickleballers Community together, and stay connected with everyone you meet.
No one gets left behind. Whether you’re naturally social or more reserved, you’ll be welcomed and connected through our community platform. After camp, the group chat starts buzzing with game invites. By next month, you’ll have a regular crew who understands your goals and your game.
I’ll help you eliminate the hesitation that’s been costing you points. Should you drive or drop? You’ll know. When do you move to the kitchen? You’ll feel it. How do you handle the lob? You’ll be ready before it even lands.
When you step onto courts next week, your playing partners will notice a new clarity in your game — someone who moves with purpose and makes good decisions.
I’ll help you identify the technical patterns that are currently limiting your game. When I show you how to adjust them — through gentle, purposeful drilling with clear feedback — the shots that used to frustrate you will start to feel natural.
Most players carry the same habits for years. A single good session can change that.
I’ll remind you just how enjoyable pickleball can be when it feels effortless. You’ll leave feeling good, physically and mentally, and already looking forward to your next time on the court.
On June 15th, your love for the game gets refreshed.
Because when pickleball feels easy, flowing, and fun — that’s when you truly fall in love with it all over again.

Yes — and this is something I take very seriously. The session is thoughtfully paced from start to finish. We take our warm-up seriously, we don’t rush through drills, and we finish with a proper cool-down. The focus is on playing well and feeling good — not on intensity. Every player in this session is in the same stage of life, and I coach with that in mind.
Just bring your paddle, court shoes, athletic wear, sunscreen, water, some snacks, and a towel.
Definitely. With a maximum of 8 students, you’ll receive personalized feedback throughout the session. 30 years of coaching across 7 sports have sharpened my ability to quickly spot and fix the specific things holding each player back.
